THE FARGO POLICE ACADEMY
The Fargo Police Department provides its own in-house paid academy training to each of its new Police Recruit hires. The Fargo Police Academy is an 18-week, full-time academy certified by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (ND POST). Candidates must successfully complete all pre-hire requirements prior to acceptance into the Academy.
Recruits are compensated throughout their duration of the Academy with a $66,498 starting salary for Police Recruits on day one. Upon successful completion of the Academy, graduates will become licensed Peace Officers within the state of North Dakota and begin the 16-week Police Training Officer Program (PTO).
Applications for The Fargo Police Academy will be accepted on a rolling basis. The Fargo Police Training and Development Unit will help you determine the best start date for you.
The Fargo Police Academy is offered twice a year, once in January and again in May.
