Why did you choose a career in policing?
Growing up in Windsor, CO, I was part of the Weld County Explorers program, where I gained firsthand experience in law enforcement and developed a strong appreciation for the work officers do. That experience sparked my passion for serving the community. Over time, as I learned more about the critical role police officers play in Fargo, my desire to not only help keep the community safe but also assist those in need, grew exponentially. This career allows me to make a meaningful difference every day, and that’s something I’ve always strived for.
What’s the best part of working for FPD and in the Fargo community?
The best part of working for The Fargo Police Department and serving the Fargo community is the incredible sense of teamwork and support among our officers. We have a culture that truly feels like family—everyone is ready to step in, lend a hand, and share the load to ensure we all stay strong and focused on our mission of being guardians for our community.
What is your favorite Academy/Training memory?
Though it might seem unusual to some, my favorite academy memory was the taser classroom and exposure day. While the taser exposure was far from pleasant, it created an unbreakable bond between me and my classmates as we all experienced it together. We were a team, supporting and encouraging one another through something we knew would make us stronger. It was a powerful reminder that the challenges we face together shape the trust and camaraderie essential to this profession.
