Why did you choose a career in policing?
I wanted to be someone who could help people during their darkest moments. Growing up, I watched my dad, a mortician, interact with people during some of the toughest times in their lives. His compassion and dedication to serving the community inspired me to follow a similar path in law enforcement.
What’s the best part of working for FPD and in the Fargo community?
The camaraderie and teamwork within the department make this job special. I enjoy working with people who share the same goal: to serve and protect our community. The supportive environment made my transition from civilian life much easier, and Fargo itself has a welcoming and collaborative spirit.
What is your favorite Academy/Training memory?
Watching recruits have their “light bulb moments” is my favorite part. It’s incredibly rewarding to see someone master a difficult concept or finally realize they’re capable of being a police officer. Those moments of growth are what make this job fulfilling.
