Why did you choose a career in policing?
A ride-along with a Minnesota State Patrol opened my eyes to the rewarding nature of law enforcement. Hearing the officer’s stories and experiencing a shift from the other side of the police tape solidified my decision to pursue this career.
What’s the best part of working for FPD and in the Fargo community?
The incredible support from both the department and the community stands out. Law enforcement is a demanding job, and knowing the department has your back makes a huge difference. Fargo’s community support makes the work even more meaningful. I also appreciate the variety of roles I’ve been able to take on over my 20 years here, especially being part of our academy—a unique opportunity that helps build a strong sense of belonging from day one.
What would you say to someone considering joining FPD?
It’s the best seat to the greatest show on earth. Come join an amazing team and be part of something truly rewarding.
